Ambassador Hayashi’s attendance at the MOC signing ceremony between SCARDA and CEPI

On 23rd June, Ambassador Hayashi attended the signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) between SCARDA and CEPI.
* SCARDA; Strategic Center of Biomedical Advanced Vaccine Research and Development for Preparedness and Response.
* CEPI; Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations.
SCARDA and CEPI share a common role in funding the development of vaccines against infectious diseases. This MOC aims at further collaboration between SCARDA and CEPI, including information sharing to enhance preparedness for and possible responses to any future pandemic.
In his remarks, Ambassador Hayashi expressed his hope that this MOC would promote future vaccine development throughout the world, including in Japan, and play an indispensable role in accelerating international 'preparedness' for any pandemic that might occur in the future.
