Ambassador Hayashi’s attendance at the Completion Ceremony of 8 Bishopsgate

On 13 July, Ambassador HAYASHI Hajime attended the completion ceremony of 8 Bishopsgate in London’s City.
Ambassador Hayashi toured the building, which has achieved the highest rating for building environmental assessment in the UK due to its use of advanced technologies such as rainwater recycling and smart sensor-based air conditioning systems. He was guided by officials from Mitsubishi Estate, who have been undertaking development work in the City.
In his remarks, Ambassador Hayashi noted the significance of this project, a collaboration between Japan and the UK, as a new innovative development in the City, which puts particular emphasis on the environment and work place, under the leadership of a Japanese company. Ambassador also pointed out how Japanese companies have an important role to play in the UK’s urban development.
