On 13 September, Ambassador HAYASHI Hajime attended a reception hosted by Hitachi at the UK Parliament.
The reception, titled 'Digital Transformation of Infrastructure and Industry', showcased transformational initiatives designed to deliver digital solutions and expertise to the UK economy, infrastructure and environment with a particular focus on decarbonisation and increased productivity.
In his remarks, Ambassador Hayashi introduced the creation of the Digital Agency by the Government of Japan and the launch of the UK-Japan Digital Partnership. He also noted that the private sector is essential to solving common challenges faced by both Japan and the UK towards the transition to a low-carbon economy, and expressed his hope that Hitachi's innovative solutions will contribute to these challenges.
