On 12 October, the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering, which honours internationally outstanding achievements in the field of engineering, was awarded at Buckingham Palace. Dr SAGAWA Masato, who was awarded the prize in 2022 for his contribution to the discovery, development and popularisation of permanent magnets, attended the ceremony, together with this year's winners, and was honoured by His Majesty King Charles III.
Ambassador HAYASHI Hajime also attended the ceremony, had an audience, and exchanged words with His Majesty at the palace. Prior to the award ceremony, Ambassador Hayashi received Dr Sagawa, and congratulated him on his award.
