On 23 January, Ambassador and Madame Hayashi attended the Longines World Racing Awards held in London. The award ceremony was attended by the President of the Japan Central Racing Association (JRA), Mr Masayoshi Yoshida and the jockey of Japanese racehorse Equinox, Mr Christophe Lemaire. Equinox won the World’s Best Racehorse Ranking for 2023 and the Japan Cup 2023 Race won the World’s Best Race Ranking. Mr Lemaire and the JRA were delighted to receive the awards and celebrated with people involved in the horse racing industry from around the world.

The awards are presented by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA). Each year, racehorses and races around the world are ranked and the racehorse officials and race organisers with the top ranking for the year are awarded. This is the second time a Japanese horse has won the award since Just a way won in 2014, and the first time a Japanese race has won the best race award.
