Ambassador Hayashi’s attendance at Reception for 75th Anniversary of Japanese Studies at University of Cambridge

On 10 May, Ambassador HAYASHI Hajime attended a reception to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Japanese Studies at the University of Cambridge.
 
Set up in 1947 as one of the oldest centres for the study of the Japanese language in the UK, the department has contributed to the development not only of the study of the Japanese Language but also to broader Japanese Studies in the UK and promoted interaction with various Japanese universities through student exchange programmes.
 
As he raised a toast, the Ambassador praised the achievements of the department to date and expressed his hope that it would continue to promote academic exchanges with Japanese universities in the future.
