Ambassador Hayashi’s visit to Northern Ireland

On 19 and 20 May, in view of the fact that the Northern Ireland government was restored for the first time in almost two years, Ambassador HAYASHI Hajime visited Northern Ireland where he met with Michelle O’Neill MLA, First Minister of Northern Ireland, Emma Little-Pengelly MLA, Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, and Deirdre Hargey MLA, Minister for the Economy. The visit of the Ambassador of Japan to the UK to Northern Ireland marks the first such occasion in five years since July 2019. Accompanied by delegates of Japanese companies. Ambassador Hayashi also exchanged views with John Healy, Chair of Invest Northern Ireland, Japan-related companies based in Northern Ireland, and several local companies exporting to Japan. In addition, Ambassador Hayashi visited Artemis Technologies Ltd and the Ulster Museum.

On 20 May, Ambassador Hayashi met with Michelle O’Neill MLA, First Minister of Northern Ireland, and Emma Little-Pengelly MLA, Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland. They exchanged views on many topics such as strengthening business and cultural bonds between Japan and Northern Ireland.

On 20 May, Ambassador Hayashi met with Deirdre Hargey MLA, Economy Minister of Northern Ireland, together with delegates of Japanese companies. They exchanged views on trade relations and ongoing business cooperation between Japan and Northern Ireland.

On 20 May, Ambassador Hayashi met with John Healy, Chair of Invest Northern Ireland, together with representatives from Japan-related companies based in the country. They exchanged views on the characteristics of Northern Ireland as a business and investment location.

On 20 May, Ambassador Hayashi met with Invest Northern Ireland and local companies exporting to Japan. They exchanged views on specific business possibilities between Japan and Northern Ireland.
 

Visit to Artemis Technologies Ltd

On 20 May, Ambassador Hayashi visited Artemis Technologies Ltd. He was briefed by Gail Cook, Director of Marketing, on the company's business. Following the briefing, Ambassador Hayashi observed the manufacturing process of electric propulsion vessels.
 

Visit to the Ulster Museum

On 19 May, Ambassador Hayashi visited the Ulster Museum. He was guided around the museum by Anne Stewart, Senior Curator of Art, where they viewed the exhibits, including special exhibition by Sir John Lavery, famous painter from Belfast, and exhibits on the history of Northern Ireland.
