State Visit of Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress to the United Kingdom (Day 6)

On 27 June, Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress formally bid farewell to Their Majesties The King and Queen at Buckingham Palace in the morning.


Their Majesties then visited the Young V&A Museum, where they interacted with Japanese and British children and viewed the exhibition “Japan: from Myths to Manga”. Their Majesties then enjoyed a short performance from the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of My Neighbour Totoro.


In the afternoon, His Majesty The Emperor visited St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, to lay a Wreath on the tomb of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.


His Majesty then proceeded to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, where he toured the Temperate House and received briefings on Kew’s activities and its huge collection of plants.
