Ambassador Hayashi’s lecture at the Palmerston Kai hosted by Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the UK

On 5 July, Ambassador HAYASHI Hajime attended the Palmerston Kai hosted by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), and delivered a lecture on the State Visit of Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress to the UK, recent developments in the Japan-UK partnership and the current situation in the UK.
In his remarks, Ambassador Hayashi expressed his gratitude to the JCCI and other organisations invited to the event for their cooperation in helping to make the State Visit of Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress to the UK a great success, and reflected on the visit as a whole. He also explained that the Japan-UK partnership has been achieving a great deal in recent years in various fields such as economy and security, and the visit of Their Majesties this time was a reflection of this mature partnership. In view of the UK general election held on 4 July, he also highlighted the importance of further promoting the Japan-UK partnership under the new Labour government.
