Ambassador Hayashi’s attendance at Fukushima Reception
2024/7/8

On 8 July 2024, Ambassador HAYASHI Hajime attended the Fukushima Reception - a networking event hosted by Fukushima Prefecture to enable participants to gain a sense of what Fukushima is like today and what it has to offer.
In his remarks, the Ambassador mentioned that the Government of the UK had lifted its import restrictions on Japanese food products based on scientific evidence almost two years ago, and that its decision had allowed us to share even more of Japan – and particularly Fukushima’s culinary delights – with the British people. He expressed the hope that it would be possible to further strengthen the relationship between the UK and Japan by making people in the UK aware of the hidden attractions of individual prefectures, thereby helping to promote regional development – and, of course, that of Japan as a whole.
