Ambassador Hayashi’s visit to Scotland

On 17 September, Ambassador HAYASHI Hajime visited Scotland where he met with The Rt Hon John Swinney MSP, First Minister of Scotland and Annabelle Ewing MSP, Deputy Presiding Officer of Scottish Parliament. In addition, he visited the National Galleries of Scotland.

Ambassador Hayashi met with the Rt Hon John Swinney MSP, First Minister of Scotland at the Scottish Parliament, where they emphasised the historically significant relationship between Japan and Scotland. They exchanged a wide range of views on topics such as the activities of Japanese companies in Scotland and the strengthening and further promotion of economic and cultural exchanges between Japan and Scotland.
 
 
Meeting with Annabelle Ewing MSP, Deputy Presiding Officer of Scottish Parliament

Ambassador Hayashi met with Annabelle Ewing MSP, Deputy Presiding Officer of Scottish Parliament at the Scottish Parliament. They exchanged a wide range of views on Japan-Scotland relations, as well as on the strengthening and promotion of exchanges in the fields of economy, culture, education, and research between Japan and Scotland.
 
 
Visit to the National Galleries of Scotland

On 17 September, Ambassador Hayashi visited the National Galleries of Scotland, where he was escorted around the galleries by Anne Lyden, Director- General, and Dr Patricia Allerston, Deputy Director and Chief Curator, and appreciated the exhibition of paintings by Scottish artists and others, including the consequences of exchanges between Japan and Scotland.
