Ambassador Suzuki’s attendance at the Zoological Society of London Cherry Tree Planting Ceremony at London Zoo

On 27 March, Ambassador Hiroshi Suzuki attended the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) Cherry Tree Planting Ceremony at London Zoo to witness the planting of cherry trees under the Sakura Cherry Tree Project. The event was attended by Councillor Robert Rigby, Mayor of Westminster, Mr Matthew Gould, Chief Executive Officer, ZSL, and other guests from both the UK and Japan.
Ambassador Suzuki expressed his delight that London Zoo, which draws numerous visitors from around the world, has accepted the cherry trees from the project. He also voiced his hope that the cherry trees, which are a symbol of the friendship between Japan and the UK, would become a new attraction for the zoo. Mr Matthew Gould, Chief Executive Officer, ZSL, stated that the trees will stand as a symbol of the power of nature to renew itself as well as the friendship between two countries and will remind us to cherish nature and understand the cycle of life.
