Minister Ikegami’s attendance at the 2025 World Marmalade Awards Ceremony
2025/4/26

On 26 April, Deputy Head of Mission Minister Masaki Ikegami attended the 2025 World Marmalade Awards Ceremony held at Dalemain Mansion in Cumbria.
At the award ceremony, Minister Ikegami noted that 2025 is the 20th anniversary of the World Marmalade Awards, which have grown steadily to become one of the world's leading competitions. He also touched on the global expansion of the competition, including the annual counterpart award ceremony in Japan’s Ehime Prefecture, which sees an increasing number of entries each year.
Among the approximate 3,000 entries this year, one Japanese entry which was made by Ms. Hitomi Wakamura was the recipient of the “Double Gold Award,” the highest honor. This is the first time an entry from outside the UK has won this award. The winning entry will be sold at Fortnum & Mason this year.
