Ambassador Suzuki’s attendance at Groundbreaking Ceremony at 72 Upper Ground

On 25 September, Ambassador Hiroshi Suzuki attended a Groundbreaking Ceremony at 72 Upper Ground, the site of the former ITV headquarters, which will be used for mixed-use development.

The ceremony was also attended by Jason Stockwood, Minister of State (Minister for Investment) at the Department for Business and Trade, Masanori Iwase, Senior Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. which is leading the development project, Bradley Baker, Chief Executive of CO-RE, Howard Dawber, Deputy Mayor of London for Business and Growth, Cllr Danny Adilypour, Deputy Leader of Housing, Investment & New Homes from Lambeth Council, Kate Varah, Executive Director and Co-Chief Executive of National Theatre, and other esteemed guests.

In his remarks, Ambassador Suzuki expressed his hope that this development project, designed to enhance the integrity of the local community, would become a new landmark along the Thames. He envisaged it as a place where people could meet and enjoy their community, just as the Thames has connected the city and brought people together over the centuries.
