Ambassador Suzuki’s attendance at the Labour Party Conference 2025

From 28 to 30 September, Ambassador Hiroshi Suzuki visited Liverpool to attend the 2025 Labour Party Conference.
During the visit he had meetings with Ms Seema Malhotra MP, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (Indo-Pacific), Mr Chris McDonald MP, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Minister for Industry), and Mrs Sharon Hodgson MP, the UK’s Trade Envoy to Japan, where he exchanged views on a broad range of topics including the current Japan-UK relationship, and wider international affairs.
Additionally, Ambassador Suzuki had the opportunity to speak with several important figures within the Labour government, including the Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer KCB KC MP, the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon David Lammy MP, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Lord Chancellor, the Rt Hon Rachel Reeves, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, and the Rt Hon Yvette Cooper, the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.
