Job Vacancy: Staff for Residence of Senior official of the Embassy of Japan

Place of Work: Residence of a senior official of the Embassy of Japan in the UK

Employment Type: Fixed-term (less than two years, with probationary period)
Note: Upon expiry of the fixed-term contract, there is the possibility of transition to a permanent contract subject to mutual agreement.

Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications

Commencement of Employment: Scheduled for mid-Feburuary to early March 2026

Working Hours: 10:00 – 18:30 (with one-hour lunch break)
Note: Remote working is not available. Overtime work is required when dinners or receptions are held at the residence.

Main Duties
(1) Support for meals, reception parties and welcoming guests (Responsible for supporting the chef and cleaning etc)
(2) Cleaning of the residence premises (including the garden and the outdoor space)
(3) Management of equipment and restocking of goods
(4) Coordination with the contractors and embassy staff

Qualifications
(1) Advanced proficiency in English (Intermediate Japanese language skills are preferable)
(2) Work experience in the hospitality industry, such as hotels or restaurant, is preferable

Requirements
Applicants must hold valid immigration status permitting employment in the UK (YMS visas are not accepted)
