Foreign Minister’s Commendation - Professor Dapo Akande

On 15 December, Ambassador Hiroshi Suzuki presented the Foreign Minister’s Commendation to Professor Dapo Akande of the University of Oxford at the Embassy of Japan.
Professor Akande has been a prominent figure in promoting research, practice and education in the field of public international law. He has made great contribution in strengthening Japan’s endeavours for free and open international order based on the rule of law through many activities, such as publishing outstanding research with the Japanese Government, representing Japan before the International Court of Justice, and contributing to the Tokyo International Law Seminar.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Suzuki referred to the accomplishment and contribution above and expressed deep respect and gratitude for Professor Akande.
Professor Akande expressed his appreciation for Japan’s longstanding contributions to promoting the rule of law, as well as its unwavering commitment to addressing international issues.
