On 28 January, Deputy Head of Mission Minister Masaki Ikegami attended a special performance at The Royal Ballet School.

This special performance was held to commemorate the ten-years of support provided by Kinoshita Group, a Japanese company, which has served as a Corporate Partner of The Royal Ballet School since 2016. Through this partnership, the Kinoshita Group has supported the school’s performances as well as the training and development of Japanese students at the school.

This year also marks the 100th anniversary of The Royal Ballet School, where many Japanese dancers currently performing with The Royal Ballet studied. Former Principal dancer of The Royal Ballet and current Artistic Director of the National Ballet of Japan, Miyako Yoshida, is also an alumni of The Royal Ballet School. Under her artistic direction, the National Ballet of Japan made its UK debut at the Royal Opera House last year.
