Seminar on Japanese Rice Flour
2026/3/25
On 25 March, the Embassy of Japan held a seminar on Japanese rice flour with the aim of promoting exports of Japanese agricultural, forestry, and fishery products and foods.
Twenty participants, including food writers and influencers, attended the event. Focusing on the use of Japanese rice flour in sweets, the event featured demonstrations on the types, functional properties and handling of Japanese rice flour. It also highlighted how rice flour is being developed for various applications beyond sweets, such as bread and noodles. Following the demonstrations, a networking event was held where participants sampled the sweets.
Against the backdrop of the growing gluten-free market in the UK, the Embassy intends to continue its efforts to promote Japanese rice flour.
