On 25 June, the Embassy of Japan hosted a private view of the current Embassy exhibition "和紙 Washi: The Artistic Spirit of Japanese Paper".

The exhibition showcases the beauty, warmth, and versatility of washi, Japan’s traditional paper, through the works of three UK-based washi artists. It aims to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of Japanese culture and traditional craftsmanship.

At the private view, the three featured artists, Elaine Cooper, Hiroko Imada, and Kuniko Maeda. spoke about the inspiration behind their work and shared their perspectives on the unique appeal and potential of washi.
