Ambassador Suzuki’s visit to Edinburgh

From 20 to 21 August, Ambassador Hiroshi Suzuki visited Edinburgh, Scotland. During his time in Edinburgh, he visited Leonardo UK and Canon Medical Research Europe, attended a lunch meeting with representatives of Japanese companies based in Edinburgh and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, and visited V&A Dundee, designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, as well as St Andrews, the home of golf.
Visit to Leonardo UK
On 21 August, Ambassador Suzuki visited the factory of Leonardo UK, a strategic partner of the GCAP, where he received a briefing from Director Stead on the company's initiatives and achievements. This was followed by an inspection of the manufacturing processes of radar, laser, and other equipment at the facility. On 21 August, Ambassador Suzuki visited Canon Medical Research Europe, where he received a briefing from President Mark Donohoe about the company's activities, followed by a demonstration of cutting-edge medical imaging systems and medical AI technologies. On 21 August, Ambassador Suzuki attended the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo at the invitation of the Royal Air Force (Scotland). Prior to the event, he met with the Duke of Hamilton and representatives of the Royal Air Force and the Italian Air Force.
