IWC 2026 Award Winning Sake Tasting

On 9 September, the Embassy of Japan, in collaboration with Sake Samurai, hosted a celebratory sake tasting event at the Embassy. The event brought together esteemed sake brewers who received awards in the Sake category of this year's International Wine Challenge (IWC), along with guests including professionals from the UK's hospitality and business sectors and other sake enthusiasts.
Ambassador Hiroshi Suzuki opened the event by congratulating the award-winning breweries on their outstanding achievements at the IWC. He also expressed his sincere appreciation for the dedication of Sake Samurai and the local sake industry stakeholders in promoting sake. This year's IWC Sake Judging was held in Hiroshima and the Embassy was particularly honoured that Governor Yokota of Hiroshima Prefecture could attend the event.
