On 14 September, Ambassador Hiroshi Suzuki attended a lunch held to announce the 2026 Praemium Imperiale laureates and celebrate their achievements.
The Praemium Imperiale was established by the Japan Art Association to honour outstanding achievements by artists around the world in the fields of painting, sculpture, architecture, music, and theatre/film.
This year, from the UK, artist Andy Goldsworthy was named the laureate in the Sculpture category.
