Ambassador Suzuki's attendance at the 30th Anniversary MATSURI Festival of the Japan Society of Northern Ireland

On 19 September, Ambassador Hiroshi Suzuki attended the 30th Anniversary MATSURI Festival of the Japan Society of Northern Ireland in Belfast. The event was attended by the Lord Mayor of Belfast, Japan Society members, and local residents including Japanese residents in the area.
The festival was officially opened by Ambassador Suzuki. In his opening remarks, Ambassador Suzuki outlined how the Japan Society of Northern Island has played an important role in bringing Japan and Northern Ireland closer together since its establishment in 1996. He also expressed his gratitude to the Japan Society for nurturing lasting friendships with the people of Northern Ireland through cultural events, educational activities.
Attendees enjoyed Japanese cultural performances and activities such as taiko drumming, traditional dance, martial arts demonstrations, shodo (calligraphy)and origami.
