Groundbreaking Ceremony of the British Library

On 21 September, the Groundbreaking Ceremony at the British library was held to mark the start of the British Library expansion project being undertaken by Mitsui Fudosan.
The ceremony was attended by Howard Dawber, Deputy Mayor for Business; James Slater, Camden Borough Councillor; Yugo Ono, Managing Executive Officer of Mitsui Fudosan and Takeshi Iwama, CEO of Mitsui Fudosan UK, which is leading the project; Carol Black, Chairman of the British Library; David Camp, the CEO of Stanhope; and Mark Reynolds, Mace Construct Executive Chairman, as well as other esteemed guests.
In his remarks, at the ground-breaking ceremony, Minister Kajita (Minister of Economic Affairs) stated that the British Library expansion project involves the construction of a mixed-use complex comprising offices and laboratories and expressed his expectation that it would serve as a bridge between academia and industry and become a hub for future innovation.
