Japan Day: Japan-UK financial seminar and reception

On 26 October, the Embassy of Japan and the City of London Corporation jointly hosted “Japan Day”, a special event held to celebrate the strong ties between Japan and the UK in the economic and financial sectors. As part of this event, a Japan-UK financial seminar was held at Nomura International in London, followed by a reception at Mansion House.
With the support of Nomura International, the seminar brought together representatives from financial institutions, investors, government agencies, and other stakeholders from both Japan and the UK. Participants exchanged views on promoting bilateral investment and strengthening economic and financial partnership between the two countries. Opening remarks were delivered by Satsuki Katayama, Minister of State for Financial Services (pre-recorded), the Rt Hon Lucy Rigby KC MP, Economic Secretary to the Treasury, and Ambassador Suzuki, followed by a panel discussion focusing on growth strategies and the promotion of two-way investment between Japan and the UK.
At the reception, representatives from financial institutions, professional services, and governments from both countries further exchanged views on advancing the Japan-UK partnership in economic and financial sectors, while also strengthening professional networks.
