Update from JICC

With the new restrictions, we have had to temporarily close our exhibition "The Techniques Shaping Japanese Textiles". You can still visit the exhibition website to find out about the individual artists and we hope to reopen next month subject to the easing of restrictions. Please follow the Embassy on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates.

Several new online resources are available for you to connect with Japan during the lockdown period. In particular, you can relive the successful "Japan Matsuri Presents" which was streamed live in September. Watch the playlists for Saturday and Sunday on YouTube.

We have a new quiz especially for dog-lovers! Test your knowledge and maybe learn something new with our "Dogs in Japan" quiz here. Although now temporarily closed, Japan House London has an ongoing "Architecture for Dogs" exhibition with several tie-in events. A virtual version of the exhibition is to become available soon so please do follow them also for their latest updates.

News about the Japan-UK Season of Culture

We are pleased to announce that the Japan-UK Season of Culture will be extended until the end of 2021. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many events were postponed this year but we look forward to including many new and rescheduled events in our extended season.

If you are planning to hold a Japan-related event in the UK, you can apply to have your event endorsed as part of the Japan-UK Season of Culture. You will be able to use the official logo and have have your event listed on our online calendar. Please check the guidelines before applying.

We also have a stock of posters and pamphlets which event organisers can use to promote the season. Please contact us at season@ld.mofa.go.jp if you would like to receive these.

Last but not least, please do follow and share the dedicated social media channels for the season on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and use the hashtag #JPNUKseason to help us find your posts. We look forward to receiving your applications and feedback!
