We hope all our readers had a wonderful Easter Holiday. At the end of last month, the Embassy hosted the 15th Green Park Youth Concert, showcasing Professor Sawa Kazuki, one of Japan's leading violinists, along with talented students from The Music High School Attached to the Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, under Professor Sawa’s direction. Ambassador Suzuki's Activities


Early in the month, Ambassador Suzuki visited Toyota’s Motor Manufacturing plant in Burnaston, one of its leading operations in Europe. Read more here. From 8 to 9 April, Ambassador Suzuki visited Manchester, where he met with Mayor Andy Burnham and attended a dinner reception with local representatives, arranged by Honorary Consul Jo Ahmed. He also had a tour of Manchester City football club and spoke with its Japanese women football players. Ambassador also had discussions over lunch with representatives from Manchester’s universities, and visited vinegar and sauce Japanese manufacturer Mizkan’s factory in Manchester. On 10 April, Ambassador Suzuki attended a Hanami gathering in Regent’s Park organised by the Sakura Cherry Tree Project. This event was a continuation of last year's cerebration, set against the backdrop of the park, which is one of the first sites where the planting of cherry trees made possible by the project took place in 2019. Also this month, Ambassador had meetings with Gareth Davies CB, Permanent Secretary of the Department for Business and Trade, and Gareth Thomas MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business and Trade.
