This year's Japan Matsuri, now in it's 15th year, was great succes with more than 35,000 visitors throughout the day at London's Trafalgar Square! Read more about the event here.

With the upcoming Grand Sumo Tournament to be held at The Royal Albert Hall next month, our current exhibition focuses on the Art of Sumo. Open weekdays until Thursday 27 November, don't miss this chance to learn about the rich history and distinctive visual imagery of sumo at the Embassy!

Earlier this month, the Embassy hosted two events. On 8 September, the Japan Self-Defense Forces' Day Reception was attended by approximately 200 participants, including UK Ministry of Defence officials, foreign diplomats and representatives from defence industries and other relevant agencies. On 10 September, the Embassy, in collaboration with Sake Samurai, hosted a celebratory sake tasting event featuring sake brewers who received awards in this year's International Wine Challenge (IWC). Ambassador Suzuki's activities

On 4 and 5 September, Ambassador Suzuki travelled to Manchester, where he attended the opening ceremony of the 50th Japan Week and the signing ceremony for the sister city agreement between Osaka City and Greater Manchester, as well as to observe a joint project between Manchester Metropolitan University and Panasonic. Earlier in the month he also had a meeting with The Rt Hon Alderman Alastair King DL, Lord Mayor of the City of London and held several decoration and commendation ceremonies for British nationals.
