Update from JICC: 17th Manga Jiman and Yonkoma Competition Shortlist

Earlier this month, on 2 February, the shortlist for the 17th Manga Jiman and Yonkoma competitions was revealed after much deliberation by the Manga Jiman competition judges. Watch the video from our YouTube channel below.



We would like to thank all entrants for the time and enthusiasm spent on their entries. The judges were once again impressed by the high standard and look forward to receiving entries in future Manga Jiman competitions. Our latest exhibition, Beyond the Cold - Seasonal Woodblock Prints by Kitaoka Fumio, opened on 22 January and runs until 15 March (with a temporary break from Friday 23 February until Monday 4 March). The exhibition features woodblock prints by Kitaoka Fumio (1918-2007) which serve as a gateway for viewers to delve into the rich tapestry of winter in Japanese culture. Ambassador Hayashi's latest activities

Earlier this month, Ambassador Hayashi attended a ceremony held at London’s Guildhall to celebrate 100 years of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance’s operation in the UK. Read more about this event here.

On Tuesday 13 February, he visited Manchester to exchange views with Mr Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, following his visit with the Greater Manchester delegation to Osaka and Tokyo last December. Read more here.
