On 6 November, the Embassy hosted the Japan-UK Quantum Workshop and Reception for Industry-Academia-Government Practitioners, co-organised by the Cabinet Office, with the reception sponsored by Q-STAR (Quantum STrategic industry Alliance for Revolution). This workshop was convened to confirm and strengthen the future direction of Japan-UK collaboration in the field of quantum technology. Read more here.

On 11 November, Chargé d'affaires ad interim Masaki Ikegami attended a lunch event hosted by the British-Japanese Parliamentary Group (BJPG) at the UK Parliament to exchange views on the bilateral relations, especially in the field of security and defence cooperation. On 17 November, the Embassy hosted a talk event for the exhibition “The Art of Sumo” which was on display at the Embassy until 27 November. At the event, Mr Martin Campbell-White MBE, who was instrumental in bringing the Grand Sumo tournaments to London in both 1991 and 2025, spoke about the appeal of sumo and the challenges involved in bringing professional sumo to the UK. On 22 November, the Embassy of Japan in the UK co-hosted a Japanese Jazz Day, in partnership with the EFG London Jazz Festival. Guests enjoyed a DJ set of rare Japanese jazz music played by Tony Higgins, a live performance featuring the musician Midori Jaeger, and a Japanese jazz kissa-inspired pop-up space by Philip Arneill.
