Borrow Artefacts Set
The Japan Information and Cultural Centre (JICC) has prepared two different sets of Japanese artefacts that are available for loan. It may be possible to borrow further items that are not included in the artefact sets upon request. Please contact the JICC directly for any enquiries about additional items. For large events, it is possible to borrow both sets.
Due to the current Covid-19 situation, we kindly ask you to dry clean all borrowed Yukata and Happi (even unused ones) before you return them to us with a receipt as a proof (a photocopy is acceptable). We quarantine all returned items for a week before loaning them out to other organisations.
Please note that we can only lend to organisations. In some cases artefacts must be collected in person from the Embassy. To borrow an artefact set, please send a request letter on headed paper to the JICC.

Guidelines for Borrowing Artefacts
1. | Artefacts are loaned free of charge. |
2. | Artefacts are normally loaned for a maximum period of two weeks. |
3. |
Since we are only able to loan items to organisations, we require a request letter on headed paper. Please send request letters to the JICC. A request can only be processed once the request letter has been received. |
4. |
The person making the loan is responsible for returning the items to the Embassy (by post/courier/in person). Opening hours: Monday-Friday, 9.30-13.00 and 14.30-17.00. |
5. |
So that we may continue our loan system, please return all artefacts on time and ensure that all items are repackaged in the way you received them. If an item is dirty or defective, please indicate this when the items are returned. Please note: Flags should not be washed, as this should be done professionally. |
6. |
Due to the current Covid-19 situation, we kindly ask you to dry clean borrowed Yukata and Happi (even unused ones) before you return them to us with a receipt as proof (a photocopy is acceptable). We quarantine all returned items for a week before loaning them out to other organisations. |
7. |
If for some reason an item cannot be returned in the condition it was lent, the borrower will be required to pay for a replacement to be purchased and delivered to the Embassy. |
