Summer is here and there are some fantastic Japan-related events to look forward to over the coming months. Be sure to check our JAPAN-UK Events Calendar regularly for the latest updates. Our current exhibition at the Embassy, Aizome - The Craft of Japanese Indigo-dyeing, continues until the end of July. Come and see some beautiful examples of this traditional craft by a wide range of highly skilled artists whose works show the respect for tradition and spirit of innovation, in a variety of materials including textiles, leather, paper and pearl. On 14 June, the Embassy hosted an event related to the current exhibition at Stonehenge “Circles of Stone: Stonehenge and Prehistoric Japan”. The event was held in collaboration with English Heritage. Guests were introduced to the ancient links between Japan and England, and similarities between Stonehenge and Jomon culture. Ambassador's activities

Last month, Ambassador and Madame Hayashi hosted the first ever Japan-UK Financial Networking Reception at the Embassy. The reception was held with the intention of encouraging exchange between a wide range of financial professionals in the public and private sectors, against a backdrop of growing momentum for further cooperation between Japan and the UK in the financial sector. Earlier this month, Ambassador attended a launch event for the Hiroshima-Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Exhibition at the Oriental Museum, Durham University, and the 25th Anniversary celebration of Invertek Drives Ltd.
