At the end of last month, the “Japan Societies across the UK Meeting” was held in Liverpool, co-hosted by the Embassy and The Japan Society. Read more here.
On 3 July, an official store of the popular Japanese anime Gundam opened in London. THE GUNDAM BASE London is the first establishment of its kind in the UK. Deputy Head of Mission Minister Masaki Ikegami attended the opening ceremony and gave congratulatory remarks. Read more here.

Ambassador Suzuki's latest activities
On 8 July, Ambassador Suzuki met with Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley DBE, Lady Mayor of the City of London, who had visited Japan last month. During the meeting, they exchanged a wide range of views on the future Japan-UK partnership in the economic and financial services sector.
Later in the month, Ambassador Suzuki attended the The Japan Society AGM and gave remarks in which he expressed his appreciation to Chairman Greg Clark and staff for their dedication in supporting the activities of the Japan Society. Referring to Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's visit to the UK in June, Ambassador Suzuki also paid tribute to The Japan Society for its long-standing contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
