Update from JICC

2022/10/25
The JICC lobby exhibition space continues to hold our current exhibition "The Craze for Japan in Victorian and Edwardian Britain" until 22 November. Don't miss your last chance to see it over the next few weeks! Find out more here.

With the 2023 application window open for The JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) Programme, we have been promoting the programme at Universties around the country. Ambassador Hayashi also participated in The JET Alumni Careers Fair 2022, which was held as an online event.

Ambassador Hayashi also attended several events across the country, including a private viewing of Japan House London’s current exhibition - The Carpenters’ Line: Woodworking Heritage in Hida Takayama, the opening of the latest exhibition at Stonehenge - Circles of Stone: Stonehenge and Prehistoric Japan, and a private viewing of the exhibition Shoji Hamada: A Japanese Potter in Ditchling. All exhibitions are open to the public and we hope that they will be visited widely by the British public over the coming months.

Japan-related events across the UK

In addition to the exhibitions which Ambassador Hayashi visited over the last few weeks, there are a wide variety of Japan-related talks, performances and other exhibitions and events taking place across the UK this autumn and winter. Events can be browsed on our easy-to-use Japan-UK Events Calendar. Search by month or region and see what is coming up near you!

We welcome applications from anyone hosting a Japan-related event in the UK. Check the criteria for registration here. Registered events will be included in the events calendar and may be featured on our social media accounts.
