Updates from the Embassy

The Embassy has hosted various events over the spring. On 9 March, a panel discussion “Innovations Emerging from Disasters: Crafts, Arts, and Technologies talk” was held at the Embassy as an event marking 15 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake. Later in the month the Embassy hosted the "Japan–UK AI Cooperation Promotion Event” in collaboration with JETRO.
Two food-related events were also held by the Embassy in March. "Basic Seminar on Japanese Cuisine (Washoku)" on 23 March and "Seminar on Japanese Rice Flour" on 25 March.
On 25 March, the fourth Japan-UK Financial Networking Reception was held at the Embassy. The aim of the event was to encourage exchanges between a wide range of financial professionals in the public and private sectors, against the backdrop of the growing momentum for further cooperation between Japan and the UK in the financial sector.

Ambassador's activities
On 4 March, Ambassador Suzuki attended the 15th Anniversary Memorial Ceremony for the Great East Japan Earthquake, held at Fukushima Garden in Holland Park and organised by the Fukushima Prefectural Association. Later in the month he attended Japan House London’s Annual Members’ Event and a Hanami gathering in Regent’s Park, organised by the Sakura Cherry Tree Project.
On 15 April, Ambassador Suzuki attended a lunch event on the theme of geopolitics hosted by the British-Japanese Parliamentary Group (BJPG) at the UK Parliament. Read more here. The following day he met with Mr Arsenio Dominguez, the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Later in the month Ambassador and Madame Suzuki visited Windsor and Eton College. Read about the visit here.
